The tour begins in the beguiling city of Casablanca. Located in the central western part of Morocco, Casablanca is the country’s industrial hub, and where young Moroccans come to seek their fortunes.   The city is populated by beautiful Moorish buildings, which combine French colonial design with traditional Moroccan style.  Once a Pirates Lair, Casablanca is now a forward-looking city full of urban sophistication. Over the 8-day tour, travellers will be shown the highlights of Morocco by expert guides.  The guides will take travellers back in time on a journey through the country’s extensive history.  

Brief Itinerary

Day 1: Casablanca

Arrive any time to Casablanca

Day 2: Casablanca/ Fez

Early start from Casablanca  Via Meknes the capital of Morocco between, 1672-1772 , we will visit some monument in Meknes including the the Bab Mansour and Royal stables then to Volubulis for a guided tour of the ancient Roman ruins before continuing on to Fez.

Day 3 : Fez

Your guides will take you on a tour of the famous medina of Fez.  The Fez medina is the largest living medieval medina and a UNESCO site.

Day 4: Fez/ Merzouga

You will be driven south towards the desert.  Upon reaching the desert you will embark on a camel ride to watch the sunset.

Day 5: Merzouga/ Torda Gorge

Wake up early and catch the sunrise, before traveling through a stone desert towards the Todra Gorge, famous for its impressive hikes and beautiful scenery.

Your guides will take you around the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou.

Day 7: Ait Ben Haddou/ Marrakech

Embark to Marrakech where you will be taken on a guided tour of the renowned medina.  Tastes the specialities of Morocco at Marrakech’s delicious food stalls.

Depart Marrakech any time.

Highlights

  • A camel ride to watch the sunset at Erg Chebbi is one such highlight. Erg Chebbi is one of Morocco’s several ergs.  An erg is a large sea of dunes formed by wind-blown sand.  In places the dunes of Erg Chebbi rise up to 150 meters from the surrounding hamada (rocky desert). 
  • The tour ends in Marrakech, one of the great cities of the Maghreb and founded almost a thousand years ago.  Situated on the edge of the Sahara Desert, this bustling city is full to the bream of street entertainment, shopping and local living.  Famed for its pink pise palaces and framed by the snow-capped mountains of the High Atlas, the souks and street entertainment of Marrakech are renowned all over the world.   Be prepared to be amazed by snake charmers, scrubbed down in the local hammams and absorbed by the healthy mixture of European, African and Middle Eastern culture.
